International women’s day 2022

On 8th March, 2022, the International Women’s Day was marked by organizing women’s Meet jointly with Ministry of Women and others Like minded organizations. The program was filled with enthusiastic participants — holding placards and shouting slogans — addressing various issues faced by women. Individuals, women activists, women networks, women with disabilities,  women security personnel, students, men backing women issues,  representatives from national and international organizations, media personnel etc met together in solidarity.

The program was made successful through the joint efforts and attendance of more than 5,000 representatives.

Similarly, in the event, FPAN successfully conducted campaign by displaying messages on play card such as –

  • Marriage Equality for All
  • She decides her future
  • Make abortion safe
  • My body : My choice
  • She decides to speak out and bring an end to violence and abuse,

 

In the program, all the FPAN female staff were actively involved. It was a successful effort for displaying messages on play card which made the event even more successful and attractive. FPAN also organized White Ribbon Run same day by wearing Black T-shirt with the message of White Ribbon Action for Health Women, Healthy World.

The event was organized in City Hall, where Honorable Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, was a chief guest of the program, delivered the remarks addressing the gathering.

Speaking at the event, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Hon. Uma Regmi called for women to be united to end violence against women. Nepal Army’s safe delivery helicopter rescue team were awarded by Honorable Prime Minister in the program. This year the international theme of IWD was "Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” and national them was  . Similarly all the FPAN‘s branches organized women’s day program coordinating with women development office, local government and likeminded stakeholders.
