Our History
The Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN) was established in 1959, emerging as Nepal's inaugural national entity devoted to family planning, service delivery, and advocacy, well ahead of any governmental initiatives in this area. Founded by a committed cadre of medical doctors and social workers, FPAN addressed critical gaps in reproductive health at a time when such support was virtually nonexistent. Its early affiliation with the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) has propelled over 65 years of innovative contributions to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) throughout the nation.
