As we step into our fiftieth year, we reminisce, about our pioneers who founded the Association. A humanitarian approach has been the hallmark of the organization over the years. It is a tribute to their noble deeds. On this auspicious occasion, it is opportune to express our heart-felt gratitude to those volunteers, who toiled for half-a-century to help grow the organization, and make sexual and reproductive health education and services available in many districts of Nepal. We acknowledge their work, in advocating policy makers, planners at the grass roots, district, and nationally. They provided their invaluable time and energy. It is a tribute to our volunteers. Our staff have imparted knowledge, skills and labor over years to nurture our organization. We cherish their hard work. It is a tribute to their contribution.

This Golden Jubilee Souvenir not only attempts to capture the momentous changes and vicissitudes in the life of our organization, but demonstrates our enduring commitment to provide Universal access to the poor, marginalized, socially excluded and internally displaced people of Nepal. And, it is our conviction that every one has the right to make responsible choices about her/his family size.

In our fifty-year journey, many people from various walks of national life have joined hands with us. We would like to express our profound gratitude to them. We acknowledge, the synergic strength, we have acquired from their support and guidance of our parent organization – International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), our sister Member Associations (MAs), various international agencies and non- governmental organizations. We are grateful to the Government of Nepal, for the support, recognition and trust in converting our plans into reality. FPAN, looks forward to receiving similar support and trust in the days to come. We would like to express deep gratitude to the communities, who supported our programs and inspired us to evolve as of the largest provider of sexual and reproductive health.

We understand that challenges ahead are immense, but with combined effort, on partnership and networking between organizations in Nepal and abroad, we are confident to address, these issues with effective strategies. It is also a time to pause, gather strength and look forward to the path ahead; steeling ourselves for what is still a formidable unfinished tasks that lie ahead of us. Together we can make a world of difference! We believe that the past inspires for the challenges ahead.
