HIV/AIDS


Strategic Direction
Reduce HIV incidence by strengthening STI services and improving sexual and reproductive health in FPAN operational areas.

Goal
Contribute towards reduced incidence of HIV/AIDS in FPAN operational areas.

Objectives
• To increase access of gender sensitive STI services and STI/HIV/AIDS education to vulnerable    populations.
• To reduce HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination at all levels.

Activities
• Conduct surveys/studies on STI/HIV/AIDS among vulnerable populations.
• Develop IEC/BCC materials for vulnerable populations
• Develop training curriculum and service delivery guidelines.
• Build capacity of service providers to avail STI services and proper knowledge to deal with    stigma and discrimination relating to HIV/AIDS.
• Provide STI diagnosis and treatment services through selected FPAN clinics.
• Provide care and support services to HIV infected and affected people (on pilot basis in    selected areas).
• Establish referral linkages within government and NGO facilities at appropriate levels for STI    services, confirmatory HIV test and care\support services to people living with HIV/AIDS    (PLWHA).
• Document implementation processes and success stories.
• Review and update existing service delivery guidelines.
• Conduct workshops/seminars among health planners, policy makers, implementers and media    persons to generate awareness about the nondiscriminatory policy and implementation to    protect the rights of HIV infected and affected people.

• Integration of HIV/AIDS Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) Services into FPAN’s    comprehensive Reproductive Health Clinics.
