Advocacy
Strategic Direction
To promote basic human rights of women, men and young people regarding
their own sexual and reproductive health by involving policy makers
and communities.
Goal
To increase public, political and financial support for sexual
and reproductive health and rights in Nepal.
Objective
• To strengthen the recognition of SRH rights in all sectors,
including policy and
legislation.
Activities
• Dissemination during the program year activities focused
on information/data resulting from survey/ studies
on sexual reproductive health and right through workshops for
policy makers, stakeholders and the media.
• Capacity building of FPAN volunteers and managerial staff
for effective advocacy on SRH, at various levels.
• Networking and linkages with other relevant organizations
for joint advocacy on the subject.
• Networking with government agencies, policy makers and
law makers for resource generation.
• Development of advocacy based packages and learning tools
based on actual realities highlighting SRHR
approaches as being critical for achievement of National Development
goals.
• Conducting opinion polls and KABP to monitor change and
commitment within government and amongst communities,
to SRHR issues.
• Review and analysis of religious texts that promote and
hinder women’s sexual and reproductive
right.
• Collecting documentary and publicizing major verdicts
decision that favor SRH rights of women.
• Reviewing existing laws/by laws that contradict international
treaties to which the government is a signatory
in the area of sexual and reproductive rights of women and men,
including right to gender equity and equality.
